Hello!
My name is Ida Olsson, I grew up in Sweden and was a high school teacher in physical education and history but I always had the urge to be more part of the nature and that led me to move up to Svalbard 2014.
I have now been guiding for over 19 years in the outdoor industry and up in Svalbard. I now work as a snowmobile, skiing and glacier guide during the winter months in Svalbard and then I go onboard expedition vessels and lead the guests all around the polar regions, all from Svalbard and Greenland down to Antarctica and my greatest desire is to be the guide who can experience and discover nature and give the guests the experience that will give them an adventure of a lifetime with unforgettable memories.
In 2018 I was lucky to be part of a team, half European and half Arabian woman team to ski to the North Pole, it was a Journey that gave me such inspiration to always striving to reach out to other people to go for their dreams or goals and believe that they can do anything and I now give lectures and talks about our life changing journey together.
My interest for adventure never dies only strives and to plan for our Antarctica expedition now gives me such excitement to once again be part of a woman’s team and do something extraordinary you never thought would happen!
Ida is a proud member of The Explorer's Club.
